Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy explains what Swoonia ("Swoonia", "we") collects, why, and the choices you have.
On this page
1. Information we collect
- Account info you provide: name, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, and preferences.
- Content you create: messages, voice/video prompts, and quiz answers.
- Approximate location to show nearby people — we never share your exact coordinates with other users.
- Usage, device, and log data to operate and secure the service.
- Payment info is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use information
- To provide matching, discovery, chat, voice/video, and events.
- To keep Swoonia safe and enforce our guidelines.
- To process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- To analyze and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests (safety, improvement), to comply with law, and with your consent (e.g. precise location, marketing).
4. Sharing
We share data with service providers that help us operate (hosting, payments, real-time media, analytics) under contracts that protect it. We may disclose information to comply with law or protect people from harm. We do not sell personal data.
5. Retention & security
We keep information while your account is active and delete or anonymize it after deletion, except where we must retain it legally. We use industry-standard safeguards, though no system is 100% secure.
6. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than yours, using appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
7. Your rights & contact
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data — see "Your data". Contact our privacy team at privacy@swoonia.com or our Data Protection Officer at dpo@swoonia.com.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
